Direct Line home insurance

Direct Line buildings insurance covers the structure of your home. The roof, walls, fences, gates and outbuildings. The building insurance also covers fitted kitchens, bathroom and fitted wardrobes as well as burst pipes, accidental damage to windows and the cost of alternative accommodation following an insured event.

Direct Line content insurance provides cover on a new for old basis for your household goods including carpets, furniture and personal belongings in the home, garage and shed.

The contents insurance also covers up to £500 cash in your home, accidental damage to TVs and home computers, unlimited freezer contents, replacement locks and keys following theft of keys and an automatic increase in cover of £5000 (or 10%) for several weeks either side of Christmas and family weddings.

Direct Line home insurance - Optional extras

As well as the standard cover offered by Direct Line, you can add optional extras including:

• Extra accidental damage cover for DIY disasters
• Cover for personal possessions and valuables outside the home - for example when you are on holiday
• Family legal protection including up to £50,000 to help pursue employment claims, personal injury claims, contract claims and property claims.
